heyas,

its been too quiet here for a while! seeing as festivals are bigger than ever with the crazy glastonbury ticket lottery and reading, leeds, V festy tickets selling out in record time thought id revive this community a bit. with a kind of off topic post though... anyone missed out on the UK festies who wants a change this year and fancies checking out the best European festival around should go to Fiberfib in Benicassim, Spain. Its amazing festy, lineup has been released and is pretty great, but its worth going to just for an incredible holiday with some amazing bands at night. Theres all the info on the official site, a few threads over on efestivals.com and also a wiki here with loads of info from people whove been.

have a great bank holiday everyone!

Festivaaals
wiggi has set up a handy page for fiberfib, which is now nestling in my pointless homepage.

I have knocked up a festivals 2004 page to keep track of all the festivals we're going to this year.. I want to link everyones photos and stuff afterwards so we have a good record of this years insane festival schedule.

I'll probably never get to do this many crazy festivals in one year again, so I want some way of remembering everything that happens ;)

So, UK Festivals, my plans so far:

Reading - Going for the weekend with friends, it'll be a great experience, looking forward to seeing My Chemical Romance and others.

T in the Park - Trekking to Scotland to see THE PIXIES play - they've confirmed!!! One day only though, just for them.

VFestival - Strongly rumoured that the Pixies are going to play, so I'll be there if they confirm!

Oooh, I can't wait! It's a lovely summery day where I am and my head is filled with festival plans!

Current Mood: excited

eden and zwan
Zwan have pulled out of all there European dates this summer, including Glastonbury :(

In other news, another new festival is taking part this summer called Eden. The lineup seems quite good with the following acts already confirmed, Ian Brown, Reef, Space, Aqualung, Ray Davies, Ed Harcourt, The Electric Soft Parade, The Bluetones, Har Mar Superstar, The Bees, Levellers, Dhol Foundation, Youssou N'Dour, and loads more on four stages - The Main Stage, The Venue, The World Music Marquee, and The Dance Culture Marquee.

Space?? I thought they split up? Seems good anyway. It takes place in Wirral in Cheshire and tickets cost £30 for a day or £55 for both.

Of all the festivals I am not going to this year, download is one of the more promising looking ones. Anyone in here going, so that we can possibly land a review?

Levellerstock!
hey hey! The Levellers have finally gotten the all go for there own festival, called Beautiful Days!

Its gonna take place on the 16/17th August in Devon somewhere and sounds great, the best live music with a true community spirit is the aim and the full lineup will get released soon. No prices or are avaible, but it sounds like a great event and it will be closed by the Levellers so its gotta be good :)

more info will be here tomorrow.

DOH!
Reading festival weekend tickets have sold out in record time. If you dont have festival tickets yet then Leeds, Veee, Guilfest and Download are your only decent options, best being Leeds and Guilfest. Download is new this year. Vee is more commercial than Sainsburys...

UPDATE: V has now sold out according to the NME... I reckon a good fest this year will be T In The Park. its only 2 days long, costs £82 with camping but has a great lineup with REM, White Stripes, Coldplay, The Polyphonic Spree, The Flaming Lips and loads of others, looks like its gonna be a good indie type fest this year

but even thier tickets are selling out 3 times as fast as normal aparently, so get your orders in soon...

Glastonbury
mixed news from the glasto camp, on the up side Zwan are now thought to be playing The Other stage at some point (i would have thought theyd be better in new bands but...), but on the downside PJ Harvey isnt gonna be making an appearence.

Which fests are you guys going to?

glastonbury
hey hey,

The word on the street is that Yes will be at Glastonbury, as well as Ed Harcourt and Electric 6. The line up is starting to look great with

REM
Radiohead
Flaming Lips
Coldplay
Turin Breaks
Feeder
Moby
Eels
Ooberman

to name just a few of the highlights for me, as well as a few new rumours about No Doubt and British Sea Power playing! Crackin! But nothing should be treated as confirmed until the official lineup is released or your watching them on stage...
